The Northeast Austin Promise Neighborhood (NEAPN) is a community-led initiative designed to ensure that every child, from cradle to career, has the opportunities and support they need to thrive.
Welcome to the Neighborhood
Grounded in more than 16 years of work by Austin Voices and other community partners, NEAPN brings together schools, families and local organizations to reimagine what is possible when we invest in children, strengthen communities and remove barriers to learning. How it Works
NEAPN uses a coordinated, place-based approach that aligns schools, families, and community partners across education, health, and workforce pathways. By identifying gaps and aligning resources, the initiative creates a more connected system of support.

Community Snapshot
Northeast Austin is home to strong families and deep community ties. At the same time, many families face systemic barriers that affect children from their earliest years.
- 20% of families live below the poverty level
- Less than 30% of eligible children attend school-based prekindergarten
- 25% student mobility rate due to housing and family needs
- Only 22% of NEAPN residents hold a bachelor’s degree or higher
- 26% of families lack consistent access to healthcare
These realities highlight the importance of coordinated, place-based work that supports children early and sustains opportunity over time.
